Maternal Mental Health Counselling

Do you feel overwhelmed becoming pregnant or having had a baby? Has your mood changed affecting how you cope on a day to day basis?

1 in 5 women develop a mental health issue during pregnancy or the first year after birth. These issues are described as affecting the way you think, feel , behave and interact with others and can feel very scary and all consuming. Common mental health issues include anxiety and depression.

How can Maternal Mental Health counselling help?

Counselling is one way of exploring these challenging emotions, help understand where they arise from , and allow them to be processed and thought through in a safe space.

It is also one of the interventions recommended by the NICE Guidelines (2022).

If you would like to access some support , Gill has 25 years of experience in healthcare working with parents , as well as additional experience in working with pregnant and new mums and all the challenges this brings.

To arrange an initial telephone call as an introduction  please contact her here

All face to face appointments are based in Sevenoaks, but if you are not local to the area online or telephone counselling is also available.
